METHOD
1. In a saucepan, heat 2 ½ cups of the milk. In a bowl, combine the remaining milk, the cornstarch or corn flour, the sugar, and the vanilla. Stir, and when the milk is hot, pour in the cornstarch mixture.
2. Let it come to a boil, lower the heat, and cook for 2 minutes. Add the butter, stir, and serve the cream warm or cold.
3. Place it in the refrigerator to cool, and if you like, top it with chocolate candies or colored sprinkles.
