• 1 tablespoon spicy sauce (Brown Sauce from a jar)
• Salt, pepper
For the Mashed Potatoes
• 1 kg potatoes, peeled and cut into medium pieces
• 80 g salted butter
• Evaporated milk or coconut milk (or milk of your preference)
• 80 g grated cheese (whatever you like)
• Salt, pepper
METHOD
1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot or pan. Sauté the onion until translucent and add the garlic and the minced meat. Continue sautéing until it changes color and has no pink shades left. Add the mixed vegetables and stir. Add the grated tomatoes, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, spicy sauce, salt, and pepper.
2. Transfer the mince and vegetables to a baking dish and prepare the mashed potatoes: Boil the potatoes in salted water for 15-20 minutes until soft. Drain the potatoes and mash them with a masher. Add the butter, milk, 2/3 of the cheese, salt, and pepper.
3. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Spread the filling in an ovenproof dish. Cover with the mashed potatoes, smoothing the surface and making patterns with a fork. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese and bake in the preheated oven until the top is golden brown, about 40 minutes.
Let it cool slightly before serving.
