1. Peel the bananas and apples and cut them into large, uniform pieces. Remove the stems from the strawberries and leave them whole if small, or cut them in half if larger.
2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Add the ice-cold water or sparkling soda and stir gently until you have a thick batter.
3. Place the batter in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to chill. Heat plenty of oil over medium-high heat.
4. Dip the fruit pieces into the batter and fry them in batches until golden brown and crispy. Transfer them to absorbent paper.
5. Serve immediately while hot and crispy, with honey, sesame seeds, and vanilla ice cream.
