About the festival
Free fresh fish tasting, live cooking demonstrations, local products, and music create a grand celebration by the sea.
Zygi, one of Cyprus's most popular fishing tourism destinations, once again celebrates the product that has linked its name to the community's history and daily life. The 5th Fish Festival returns on Saturday, August 29, inviting the public to an afternoon and evening filled with flavors, music, and authentic seaside experiences.
From 5:00 PM until late evening, visitors will have the opportunity to taste fresh fish for free, discover local products and traditional delicacies, and explore different aspects of Zygi's fishing life. The festival aims to highlight not only the gastronomic value of fish but also the community's close relationship with the sea and its people.
Gastronomic experiences and live cooking demonstrations are a highlight. Chefs Christos Christodoulou and Savvas Savva, along with a guest, will prepare recipes featuring fish and seafood, showcasing creative ways to utilize the sea's bounty.
Stalls offering local products and traditional flavors will be present, and the program will feature music, dance, and song. Additionally, special activities inspired by the life of a fisherman will bring the public closer to the region's fishing tradition. There will be separate activities and games for children, making the event ideal for a family outing.
From 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, there will be a live broadcast with Radio Zenith and hosts Rikko Ioannou and Frederiki Menelaou, transmitting the festival's vibrant atmosphere to listeners.
The evening will culminate with a grand concert by Giorgos Tsalikis. The popular artist will present an uplifting program of well-known hits, joined by Georgia Vran. Music, dance, and a summer vibe are expected to keep the celebration alive until late.
