About the festival
Limassol's atmospheric wine village invites us to an afternoon filled with the aromas of fresh must, traditional flavors, music, and dance.
Vouni, one of Cyprus's most beautiful and atmospheric wine villages, concludes this year's Cultural Summer with a grand celebration dedicated to the grape harvest and its flavors. The established Palouzes Festival will take place on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 16:30, in the village center (mesochoro) and the Museum Square.
Under the motto "The whole village as one company," Vouni Cultural Summer 2026 brought life to the squares, alleys, and beloved community spaces in previous months. A series of events brought together residents, expatriates, and visitors, filling the village with culture, entertainment, and beautiful moments.
The grand finale will feature the taste and aroma of palouzes, one of the most characteristic delicacies of the Cypriot grape harvest. Palouzes is made from fresh must and is an integral part of the gastronomic tradition of the wine villages, where its recipes and preparation secrets are passed down from generation to generation.
During the festival, visitors will have the opportunity to closely observe the preparation of traditional warm palouzes and learn about the stages required until the must is transformed into this beloved autumn delicacy. Tastings will allow the public to enjoy the final result and get closer to the authentic flavors of the Cypriot countryside.
Music and dance will complement the program, creating the atmosphere of an authentic village gathering. The event aims to bring young and old together around the same celebration, keeping alive Vouni's connection to viticulture, the grape harvest, and local tradition.
The village's natural and architectural setting adds its own special touch to the event. The stone-built houses, narrow streets, and picturesque corners of Vouni create the ideal opportunity for an afternoon stroll before the festival.
The Cultural Summer events are organized by the Vouni Community Council, the Vouni Expatriates Association, and the Vouni Women's Association. With the Palouzes Festival, these three bodies conclude this year's program with an event that honors roots, local gastronomy, and the value of coming together.
