About the festival
The beloved product of Cypriot land takes center stage for the second year in sweet and savory creations.
October brings with it the first cooler temperatures, autumn colors, and cherished seasonal flavors. Among the products holding a special place in Cypriot cuisine during this period is kolotži, the yellow pumpkin used in many sweet and savory recipes.
From traditional kolokotes to warm velvety soups, pies, sweets, and jams, kolotži is a particularly versatile ingredient. Its characteristic sweet taste and vibrant color can give a unique character to a multitude of creations, both old and modern.
The picturesque village of Moutoullas, one of the beautiful villages in the Marathasa valley, has chosen to honor this beloved product of Cypriot land. After its first successful event, the Kolotži Festival returns for a second consecutive year, offering another reason for an autumn excursion to the village.
The 2nd Kolotži Festival will take place on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at the Moutoullas Bridge area. There, visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about this seasonal agricultural product, be informed about its beneficial properties, and discover different ways to use it in the kitchen.
Naturally, the event will feature kolotži recipes, showcasing its unique deliciousness. Music will complement the festive atmosphere, while the detailed program and more information about the festival's activities are expected to be announced soon.
