About the festival
On Sunday, October 25, a new celebration awaits with traditional delicacies, local products, music, and creative activities for the whole family.
How does kolotzi become the reason for an entire festival? Pervolia provides the answer on Sunday, October 25, 2026, by organizing the 1st Pervolia Kolotzi Festival. Starting at 15:00, the village's Municipal Parking Area will host a gathering dedicated to the flavors and traditions of Cyprus, with a program for all ages.
The event is organized by the Dromolaxia-Meneou Municipality, the Pervolia Municipal District, and the 'Rigaina' Pervolia Cultural Group, aiming to highlight local products and establish a new annual institution in the region.
The star, of course, will be kolotzi. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste traditional flavors and delicacies based on kolotzi, while local products and crafts will also be available. The gastronomic aspect of the celebration will be accompanied by traditional songs and dances, connecting food with music and community gathering.
Activities for children hold a special place in the program. The Shadow Puppet Theatre will present the show 'Karagiozis and the Spirit of Kolotzi,' bringing the beloved hero to the festival stage.
Concurrently, the Dromolaxia-Meneou Municipal Library will host the interactive and experiential activity 'Discovering the World of Pumpkin through Senses, Play, and Creation.' Through this, getting to know the pumpkin becomes an opportunity for exploration, play, and creative participation.
Andri Karantoni will also participate in the festival's music program, adding her rhythm to the celebration. With song and high spirits, she will keep visitors company, completing the Sunday afternoon in Pervolia.
The program is rounded out with activities for all ages, giving families another reason to spend their Sunday afternoon in Pervolia.
With kolotzi on the table and tradition at its heart, this first event aims to establish a new annual gathering for the village and the wider region.
