About the festival
The art of basket weaving, traditional crafts, and local musical heritage converge on Saturday, August 1st, in Livadia, as part of the 13th Basket Weaving and Traditional Culture Festival.
The event will take place in Agnooumenon Square, in Agia Paraskevi, starting at 8:00 PM. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe firsthand the creation of the distinctive Livadiotiko baskets and kalamoti (reed mats), as well as presentations of other traditional crafts.
The Municipal District of Livadia, part of Larnaca Municipality, will offer a complimentary sweet treat, prepared on-site by chef Evagoras Ioannou. The program also includes homemade liqueur and traditional Cypriot coffee brewed over hot coals (hovoli).
At 8:30 PM, the music will begin, with Michalis Hadjimichael's ensemble presenting the program "Anthology of Traditional Song." Michalis Hadjimichael, Antri Karantoni, and Dimitra Hadjimichael will take the stage, offering the audience an evening filled with familiar melodies and traditional songs.
