About the festival
Liopetri is set to host its first major celebration dedicated to the sea and its people. The 1st Fish Festival – Celebration of the Fisherman and the Liopetri River will take place on Thursday, September 10, 2026, in the central square of the Municipal District of Liopetri.
As part of the organization, Ayia Napa Municipality has already invited professional event organizers and musical acts to present a concert featuring a well-known artist or band. The musical program is expected to last at least three hours, promising a spectacular evening to accompany the new festival.
The event aims to highlight the region's strong connection to fishing, honor its fishermen, and draw attention to the Liopetri River, one of the most distinctive landmarks in the free Famagusta district.
