About the festival
Tradition meets music and celebration at Lakirtin Fest, returning on Sunday, July 19, 2026, to the Avgorou Ethnographic Museum. The festival invites the public to a unique cultural experience filled with Cypriot melodies, folk performances, and authentic moments of entertainment.
The event begins at 18:00 with a street parade (patinada), where all musicians are welcome to participate, giving the celebration a participatory character from the very start. The musical procession will pass through three different stops in the village, bringing the festive atmosphere to the neighborhoods of Avgorou. The first stop will be the village square's coffee shop, featuring the Limassol Folklore Group. The route then continues to the Tsibouri House, where the Cultural Workshop "Para ti Limni" will present its program. The patinada concludes at Ayios Georgios Square, where the "Dimiourgein" Theatre Group will add its unique touch to the event.

At 20:00, the scene shifts to the Avgorou Ethnographic Museum, where the grand traditional celebration will take place. Two musical ensembles will take the stage, promising to transport the audience to the authentic musical traditions of Cyprus and the wider Eastern Mediterranean.
The first ensemble features Andreas Siantzis, Kyriakos Hadjiandreou, Theofanis Theofanous, and Grigoria Nikola. Following them, the Kuprum Orchestra will take over, with Laurent Clouet, Alexis Fourkas, Georgiadis, Vasilis Pallikaris, Aristotelis Tziogas, Yiannis Laoutaris, and Grigoria Nikola, in a musical encounter expected to sweep the audience into dance and celebration late into the night.
Lakirtin Fest is not just another summer event. It is a celebration dedicated to folk tradition, collective memory, and the power of music to unite people and generations. Through sounds, songs, and performances, it highlights Avgorou's cultural identity and reminds us that the most beautiful moments are born when people meet, sing, and celebrate together.
Admission for the evening celebration is €12. The event is supported by the Ayia Napa Municipality and the Avgorou Community Council, inviting all ages to experience an authentic summer evening filled with music, tradition, and Cypriot hospitality.
