About the festival
Some flavors instantly transport us back to our childhood, to village festivals and our grandmothers' kitchens. One such flavor is Glytzisto, the traditional sweet deeply connected with Koilani and its rich gastronomic heritage.
On Sunday, July 5, the beautiful wine village of Limassol invites us to a special celebration dedicated to one of our region's most beloved traditional delicacies. From noon until late afternoon, the village's events area will be filled with aromas, music, and flavors reminiscent of authentic Cyprus.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn firsthand the art of making Glytzisto, watch live demonstrations, and discover small secrets passed down through generations for decades.
The program also includes music, dance, children's activities, an introduction to local products, and traditional treats offered free to visitors. Of course, Glytzisto, Palouzes, and other beloved flavors of the Cypriot countryside will be abundant.
This year's surprises are particularly interesting, as visitors will have the chance to witness the creation of the first Jumbo Glytzisto, as well as a unique presentation of Glytzisto preparation using traditional techniques rarely seen today.
If you love festivals that keep tradition alive and highlight the authentic flavors of Cyprus, then the Glytzisto Festival in Koilani is an outing worth adding to your summer schedule.
