About the festival
Arsos lights up seven stills and treats us to zivania, palouzes, and songs. The Kazaniasmata festival returns on Sunday, October 25, featuring free zivania and treats, rebetiko bands in the neighborhoods, and kantadoroi (serenaders) in the village streets.
In Arsos, the distillation of zivania becomes an occasion for gathering, singing, and a Sunday stroll from neighborhood to neighborhood. On Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 11:30 to 17:00, Kazaniasmata will once again bring the village's stills to life, inviting visitors to observe the process, taste zivania, and experience firsthand a tradition that remains an integral part of Arsos's life.
Seven of the eighty licensed stills in the village will be lit to 'fkaloun ratzin' (produce the spirit), as the locals say. Around them, small musical groups will perform folk, traditional, and rebetiko songs, while free zivania and treats will be offered.
Each still will have its own company and sound, giving visitors the opportunity to wander through the village and stop wherever the music draws them:
Avramidou Brothers' Still: Folk and rebetiko songs by Marios Kyprianidis and Dimitris Christodoulidis.
Zornas' Still: Musical group «Exarchontes».
Late Takis Parperis' Still: Panikos Avgerinos musical group.
Andreas Aristokleous' Still: Rebetiko band «Rebetiko Horis».
Philippos Ioannou's Still: Rebetiko band «Arhi dia tou Rebetikou».
Kokos Achilleos' Still: Detachment of the Cypriot Kantadoroi Group.
Melis' Still at «Stavros»: Another point along the still route.
The Kantadoroi ARIONES will sing in the square, while other serenaders will stroll through the streets, bringing music from the neighborhoods to the village center.
The festival will also feature grape-based delicacies. Local workshops will offer warm palouzes, while wine, zivania, and other grape products will be available for sale. The taverns in the square will also be open for those wishing to combine their visit with a meal.
The day also offers an opportunity for a more extensive exploration of Arsos. Nature lovers can walk the 'Six Fountains' nature trail, while the Folklore Museum, the Byzantine Church of Apostle Philippos, the Holy Monastery of Panagia Arsiotissa, and the Ecclesiastical Treasury of Agia Mariamni will be open to the public.
The experience is complemented by the exhibition 'With Two Measures and Two Standards,' the permanent photography exhibition, and the ARSOS 1933 Gallery, adding stops for art and local history along the route.
With the stills lit, musical groups in the neighborhoods, and warm palouzes, Arsos awaits us for an autumn Sunday filled with treats, songs, and strolls.
Information: Sunday, October 25, 2026, in the neighborhoods and square of Arsos, Limassol district, 11:30–17:00.
