About the festival
The tradition of zivania, the authentic Cypriot spirit intrinsically linked to rural life and history, continues vibrantly in autumn 2026. Alona is once again preparing to welcome residents and visitors to its established Zivania Festival on Sunday, October 25.
The event offers a unique gastronomic and cultural journey through Pitsilia, highlighting the customs, flavors, and people of the region. As every year, attendees will have the opportunity to closely observe the traditional zivania distillation process and learn how one of the island's most characteristic products is made.
Additionally, the day's program is expected to include local delicacies and products, music and dance performances, and activities showcasing the cultural richness of the Cypriot countryside. The picturesque village will be adorned in festive decorations, inviting the public to wander its narrow streets and experience the genuine hospitality of its residents.
The Zivania Festivals in Alona and Pelendri have become significant cultural and gastronomic institutions.
