About the festival
A celebration filled with traditional flavors, experiential workshops, music, and the aromas of carob takes place in the village's stone-paved streets.
Anogyra, a village inextricably linked to carob and the production of traditional Cypriot pasteli, becomes even sweeter. The entire community prepares to welcome visitors to a grand celebration of tradition, taste, and culture, filled with images and memories from the past.
In Anogyra, the "Black Gold of Cyprus" is traditionally transformed into golden, aromatic pasteli. Visitors will have the opportunity to observe all stages of its preparation and learn about the history of a product that is an integral part of the village's gastronomic heritage.
A stroll among Anogyra's stone-built houses and historical monuments will feel like a journey through time. Flavors and aromas will fill the streets, creating an authentic setting that will introduce the public to both traditional recipes and modern, imaginative uses of carob and carob syrup.
Through experiential workshops, both children and adults can create their own carob syrup drink, as well as truffles and bars based on this unique Cypriot product. Additionally, they will have the chance to taste a wide variety of carob syrup preparations and discover its culinary versatility.
The festival will feature 25 exhibitors, showcasing products, local creations, and recipes. Music, food, and many activities will complete the experience, transforming the entire village into a vibrant hub of gathering and hospitality.
The event is organized with the active participation of Anogyra residents, who unite their efforts to keep a valuable tradition alive and introduce it to younger generations.
