A new cultural and gastronomic event is set to join Cyprus's festival map, focusing on one of the countryside's most significant natural and cultural treasures.
The Silikou Community Council officially announced the organization of the 1st Silikou Ancient Olive Trees Festival, which will take place on October 3rd and 4th, 2026.
This new festival aims to become an annual institution for the community, highlighting the region's impressive ancient olive trees, the village's cultural heritage, local products, and the unique natural beauty of mountainous Limassol.
Events will be hosted at Silikou Square and the Olive Oil Museum, offering visitors the chance to learn firsthand about the history of olives and olive oil, and to experience authentic Cypriot hospitality.
The festival is expected to combine culture, tradition, gastronomy, and entertainment, with a special emphasis on the timeless relationship between the region and the olive tree, a symbol of life, prosperity, and continuity for centuries.
Beyond showcasing the ancient olive trees that adorn the area, the event aims to promote local producers, traditional products, and the authentic flavors of Silikou, while also boosting agrotourism and community visitation.
