About the festival
The 10th Rural Culture Festival arrives on October 2 and 3, 2026, at Lefkollas Municipal Square, within the Paralimni-Deryneia Municipality. The event returns with a rich two-day program dedicated to Cypriot tradition, local produce, and the people of the countryside.
The event is organized by the Cyprus Agricultural Payments Organisation, with the support of the Paralimni-Deryneia Municipality. The festival aims to bring the public closer to Cyprus's rural culture and highlight products, flavors, and customs that form a significant part of our cultural identity.
Stalls featuring Cypriot products and local delicacies will be set up. Visitors will have the opportunity to taste palouze, soutzoukos, warm halloumi, village bread, and many other traditional treats. These flavors are linked to rural communities and pass down recipes and local customs from generation to generation.
A special highlight of the program is the live cooking demonstration by renowned chef Christos Christodoulou. He will prepare a Cypriot dish in front of the audience, which will then be offered free of charge to visitors.
The artistic program includes a concert by the popular Greek singer-songwriter Christos Thivaios, who will perform beloved songs from his extensive career. Dimitris Mesimeris and Frederiki Tombazou will also take the stage for a folk concert, and dance groups will complete the program.
The festival is designed for the entire family. Young visitors will have the opportunity to participate in specially designed activities, enjoying their own entertainment in a safe and festive environment.
This year's event also has a charitable aspect, supporting the 'One Dream One Wish' association. Thus, this grand celebration of rural culture combines tradition and entertainment with a meaningful message of social contribution.
For two days, Lefkollas Municipal Square will be filled with music, dances, aromas, and flavors from the Cypriot countryside, offering a delightful autumn outing for all ages.
